First let me say that the quality of these pictures are subpar, but I was in a hurry to capture "the moment" so I was snapping away before the lens could focus. Second, YES Ryder is a BIG Boy Now! Drinking from his practice cup that he brought from school. He was so proud of himself so we let him use his Big Boy cup at dinner and then he wanted to continue sipping from it to show off, even as we were cleanning up. (Which also explains all of the dishwasher pictures- ha!) We are SO proud of Ryder and all of his BIG BOY accomplishments this past week, even though we have all been under the weather.
In addition to sipping out of a cup with no lid, Ryder also gave up the battle and has slept the past two nights with NO PACI! This was a huge step, and he had chewed through his last two pacis, so we figured we were already having a hard week being sick and losing sleep with Ryder sleeping with us, why not add to the craziness and take away his paci too. HA! Well Thursday night he went back to sleeping in his own bed again after having four nights in our bed, and he wasn't too thrilled. He threw everything down the stairs and was so mad that we had taken his paci, but after we showed him a few times that the pacis were broken, he remembered that they didn't taste good, and I think he finally got the idea of it all. Well, that and the fact that he cried for an hour at the top of the stairs and finally gave in to the fight didn't help either. Last night was MUCH easier, and he went right down with no fuss. HALLELUJAH! He's finally recovered from his cold but now Scot and I are battling this cough and congestion. I am already missing our germ-free summer, but it doesn't look like we will get warm weather for awhile. They say that SNOW is in our forecast this weekend.
