Friday night we celebrated my stepdads birthday by going out for chinese and then coming back to our house for cake. Anytime cake is involved, Ryder is right in all the action, making sure he doesn't miss out! I will say that this pregnancy I have definitely wanted sweets more, and so cake was right up my alley :) Scot was working late, but was able to join us for birthday cake and singing Happy Birthday. It was a fun night and Ryder was very happy to see his Nana and Pawpaw.

The birthday boy makes a wish and blows out his candles! Ryder was there to help of course, and he still loves singing Happy Birthday and requests to sing it over and over again with a grand applause at the end. He is my little Ham Biscuit and moments like those are ones that I will always cherish ha!

| Then on Saturday we met up with Nana once again to have Ryder's two year old pictures made. We met up bright and early and had a breakfast with my mom at McDonalds in hopes that it would set the mood for taking good pictures. We started the session in Ryder's train longalls that I had made for his birthday party and we got a few and then full on terrible two mode came on and we were faced with the decision to reschedule. I was so embarrassed and at one point when we had tried a Spring background Ryder screamed "I don't ike fowers!!!" ha! My mom and I just decided to try again the next day. Instead we went to Target and Home Goods/Marshalls to get a few goodies. She bought me a few shirts in a size larger so I could get by with until I was able to fit into the maternity clothes I have. This pregnancy has me due around the middle to end of September so I will be my biggest smack dab in the heat of the summer. Yay! With Ryder I was due at the end of Fall so it really wasn't that bad, but because of that I have way more Fall/Winter clothes than Spring/Summer. I was happy to have a few things to add to my collection and then she also got me some cute Easter decorations. It was so fun shopping with my mom and she really is my best friend. I say all the time how fortunate I am to have her here to watch Ryder for us so we can have a date night, or just to talk to about pregnancy stuff or whatever it may be. |

I had a list of things to get done while Scot was working all weekend with one of his accounts downtown so I made the best of my time and went grocery shopping with Ryder once he woke from his nap. I promised him that we would go out for a treat if he behaved and I truly think the child knew what I was saying because he was as good as gold! This usually isn't the case when it comes to grocery shopping so I was impressed. I took him to Bresters for a kid cone and I had a cup of cake batter. It hit the spot and afterwards I let him run around and get some of his energy out. It really was fun just the two of us, but made me miss Scot and wish that he could have been on our ice cream outing too. We got home and made dinner together and then snuggled up watching his shows and waiting on his Daddy to get home. Boy when Scot came home I had never seen him run so fast as he did when he heard the front door unlock! He was so happy to see his Daddy and it made my heart swell with love at how much he loves him.

When Sunday came around I was nervous to see how Ryder would do at another photo session but my worries were all for nothing and the photos came out GREAT! I was so proud of Ryder for how well he did this time, and maybe he was just having an off day Saturday. I thanked my mom again and again for all the pictures that she bought and was so excited to have them to show Scot as a surprise when he got home. The day went by fast and before we knew it Scot was home and after catching up and getting comfy, we all decided to stay in and make a pizza and have a family night at home. Ryder was very excited about making pizza and he kept repeating every step I would read to him and loved pressing the dough out! He has really become my little helper in the kitchen and loves baking any kind of cookies or treats.

The final product was so yummy and we said we would definitely make the pizzas again. I remembered making the same pizzas with my mom as a little girl so it was fun to pass on the tradition.
I couldn't have asked for a better night after being away from Scot all weekend. I am very fortunate that he doesn't have to travel much but the past three weeks of February have been tough! Especially since I have been pregnant and fighting off morning sickness. I never had it with Ryder so this is all new to me. I am getting a little better day by day but I'm very happy to have my Scot back home with us and am looking very forward to having a restful day off Monday.
I couldn't leave without one more silly picture of Ryder over the weekend wearing my shoes! He just loves wearing our shoes and trying to walk around in them, and it always cracks Scot and I up seeing him in them ha- like a miniature version of Scot! How was your weekend??
