Currently wearing 3-6 and 6-9 month, depending on the brand. Your socks are hard because most pairs seem to fall off your feet or you don't seem to have a hard time kicking them off. I love that you have gotten bigger and I can phase out your old stuff and let you start wearing some new things! That is the best part of being a girl and having my very own baby girl!
Diaper Size:
Size 2 Pampers Swaddlers
Dr Appt:
No Dr Appointment this month, but I'm curious to see your stats next month! I'm very happy that we've been so blessed by not getting sick and not having to go to the Dr for sick visits.
Eating/Favorite Foods:
You love to nurse now and eat every 3 hours still, but I do feed you a bottle of breast milk with a scoop of formula as your night time bottle before bed, and then you get a bottle of formula during the night when you wake up. We introduced rice cereal to you just a few weeks ago and you have been doing pretty well with it! You still make a few faces and push most of it out of your mouth with your tongue, but I think it's just a texture thing that you're still trying to figure out. I mix it with breast milk and you end up with more all over your face than anything! It's good practice for when we start introducing more foods to you in just another month. This literally makes Mommy want to cry because I feel like the time is flying by and I can't believe it's already that time to feed you baby food! Can you stay this small forever?
Sleeping:
Still a touchy subject in this house since we aren't getting much sleep, but there have at least been a few random nights where you did sleep through (or mostly through) the night! The hardest part is when you revert and not knowing how long the losing sleep again will take. One night, two weeks? I know that this is just a season of no sleep, but it sure has been a long one at that! Here's to hoping and praying that you will soon discover the joys of sleeping.
You have always loved your Daddy, but just recently you really love that Daddy of yours! When he walks in the room you just light up and smile up at him. It's the sweetest thing ever. I thought this picture was too funny not to post. Daddy was doing crunches and you couldn't get enough of watching him, so I moved you closer to him on the floor so you could get a better view and it was just the cutest!
This picture is a bit blurry, but I wanted to capture the moment as Daddy came home from work one day this past week and you were so happy to see him! He asked if you wanted a hug and as he held his arms out, you did too! I fell into a puddle of mush right there ha!
And here's a better picture of you giving your Daddy some baby hugs! You are very affectionate lately, and in addition to "kissing" Mama, you also seem to want to hug and cuddle me when I hug you or hold you. You just cling on to my neck and snuggle in so tightly. I know these days will pass all too quickly, so I want to enjoy these sweet moments all too well, as you will one day get too old to want to hug or be affectionate towards your Daddy and I.
Playtime:
At five months, if I had to pick one toy to be your favorite, I would have to say that would be your Sophie giraffe chew toy. Okay that totally just sounded like I referred to a dog toy didn't it? Maybe because you can hold it better, or maybe because your teeth bother you more and it just feels good to chew on. I lay you on your blanket and it seems to be the first one that you go for. We also let you stand and you are getting better at sitting. Sometimes even for a few seconds unassisted! You do have a short window of playtime still, and tend to get fussy after awhile, so we know this means playtime is over and time for a nap! This past month you have continued to use the activty mat, bouncy chair, and even the Jumparoo.
Big Achievements:
You have slept through the night, but considering your infrequent nights of doing this, I would have to say the biggest achievement so far has been rolling over from your front to back and back to front. Also trying rice cereal for the first month, and continuing to do so well nursing! (Making Mommy the happiest Mommy ever!) These are BIG achievements but you continue to amaze me in all of the things you do each day. Everything you do, from reaching for a toy to giving me the cheesiest melt-your-heart smile are big achievements to me! I love you with all of my heart and am so proud of everything that you do.
HAPPY FIVE MONTHS Baby Girl :)
I can officially say that my teensy baby is but a memory, because as you enter your fifth month of life, it now sounds so old to say that I have a five month old.
Love,
Mommy
That is so sweet how much she loves her daddy! That picture just makes my heart melt. And girl, I hear you on the lack of sleep! I never know what Gracie will do now and I've just accepted that this time in my life is not the season for sleep, ha. I actually wake up more refreshed when she doesn't sleep well at night, than when she does just because that's what my body and mind are more used to at this point. Brynley is just too cute! I can't believe she's already 5 months old. It goes by way too quick
ReplyDeleteHappy 5 months Brynley!
ReplyDeleteShe is such a sweetie! I cannot believe how big our babies have gotten to be!! And sleep ah, I think we need to let them in on the little secret that sleep is AWESOME and we miss it! haha. Bryar is still getting up as well, so do not feel that she is the only one that cannot get that part down.
ReplyDeleteI love all of her little outfits and bows. She is just to precious for words. Her hair almost looks a little redish in the pictures, just like B's does except normally his looks blonde for the most part.
I hope you're having a great week!
I am LOVING this age. So fun and so much personality! And I cant wait for it to warm up! I have so many warm weather clothes I am ready to get on Miss Sula! I am tired of seeing all the same things :) As usual I LOVE all the pictures and can't believe she is FIVE months!!
