Brynley,
You turned 23 Weeks old today! (Well Tuesday of this week)
The weeks just kep going by faster and faster and honestly if I hadn't written each week on the calender I would probably have forgotten what week we were in by now! I just love documenting each little thing you do though, and I can't wait for when I can put a book together of you.

23 Weeks!
23 Weeks!
Your brother is still your biggest fan and bff!
I just love watching you squeal in delight when he talks to you or plays with you. I do feel like I am constantly on edge with him when he gets too close to your sweet baby head or tries to roll you over. He continues to try to pick you up and I have to remind him to be careful with you. I do try to let you tell him when he's getting too close to your face or getting too rough with you and you do a great job of it!
You are doing so good with Tummy Time now and can lift your head so high up off the ground and look around like a little turtle ha! I know that it will just be weeks before you want to start rocking and attempt to crawl. A few times I have caught you rolling like a little rollie pollie when I leave you on your blankie for a few minutes to change out the laundry or add dishes to the dishwasher. In fact I couldn't believe when I went to your crib to feed you in the middle of the night and you were turned over onto your stomach!
Yep, just like I said, your brother is definitely your BFF! In fact just the other day we caught Ryder picking you up from tummy time and scooting you over in his lap as he played on Mommy's iPhone and talking to you. Moments like these we try not to laugh but it was just too cute!
You have recently become a fan of Ryder's ball and I caught you playing with it and batting at it with your feet. Then once you had it in your reach you lifted it up with your legs and tried nibbling it on you!
And here you are after you'd captured your much anticipated prize! Such a sweetie!
You love your feet and toes and I've even seen you try to grab at Mommy's toes lately. You love to chew on your feet and if you can you will pull your socks off and chew on the socks too. Oh those teeth of yours! I keep saying it will be anyday now that those babies will pop through, but I've been saying that for two months now. And you're still my gummy girl! I will miss that gummy smile once they come through, but I sure will be glad that you're sleeping better. I do have to say that as of today (Thursday) since I wrote most of this post (Tuesday), you slept from 7-3am last night which is a huge improvement from where you were days and weeks ago, getting up 2, sometimes 3 times a night! The days kind of run together so I'm sure it seems much longer since you'd woken just once during the night. Oh to get sleep again, I won't know what to do with myself!
You're still getting your rice cereal each morning and seem to be okay with it. I think it just takes getting used to the texture, and the fact that it's cold. I have been trying and trying to get this face on camera, but you started squinching up your nose when eating or when you get excited about something, and pretty much anytime you want now too. It's so stinkin' cute and you make me laugh everytime! It won't be long before we start you on oatmeal and then veggies, probably in the next week! I feel your gums for teeth everyday and am shocked when I realize no teeth have come through yet! I just this week started using your baby orajel toothbrush and gel to get you used to your "teeth" being brushed. You liked the brush and seemed to like chewing on it. Of course you love grabbing everything in sight still, even more so now, and put everything in your mouth that you can! you seem to think that you need to have anything that Mommy has in her hands or anything that I'm looking at. I've also noticed you like to throw things to get a reaction or just to see what it does. It won't be long before you're playing the drop it game!
As I mentioned before, your socks had gotten too small and were in between sizes and ironically, Nana got you some cute new socks for Valentines Day, as did one of Mommys friends from MOPS. They are all adorable and this wasn't even all of the new ones!
There you go again, grabbing at those sweet baby feet of yours! I just love that smile and am going to miss you so much while we are in Hawaii. We still have a few things to work on before we go away, like breaking you from your habit of being swaddled. We currently only swaddle your body and leave your arms out, but I want to make it as easy on Nana and Pawpaw as I can while we're away!
You still like your Jumparoo and like to play in it a few minutes now. You don't love your Activity mat so I put it away, but then as soon as I did, you reached for it because it was in the corner of the livingroom and you wanted to play on it so I let you. I guess you are funny about some of your toys like that!
Happy 23 Weeks sweet girl!
Happy 23 weeks Brynley!
ReplyDeleteShe is so adorable and it's so neat reading this because she is doing the same things the 6 month old I babysit was just doing and is doing. I feel like I am reading about my life with an infant. :)
I can't believe how fast she is growing.
Wow - cannot believe it's been 23 weeks! Where has the time gone?

ReplyDeleteThat picture of Ryder and Brynley on their tummies together is simply precious!
ReplyDeleteSula is grabbing at everything now! I find myself in shock that its going to fast. I told John the other day that she just doesnt seem old enough to be in the exersaucer or eating cereal or rolling over, but she is! I love all the pictures. Brynley just gets prettier and prettier (if thats even possible :))
