Bits About Brynley: 21 Weeks!

My Sweet Little Baby Love,
You turned 21 Weeks old today which means that you will officially turn FIVE months old next week!
That makes this your very last week of being four months and it has been a good month for us. You're napping better, sleeping at night better, and you seem to be feeling better overall. However, teething seems to have come back with a vengence but thank goodness for teething tabs! At one point over the past week I thought that you were starting to drop your third and last nap of the day, the one after your 2pm feeding. I got a little worried because that's a long stretch to go until bedtime with no more naps! Luckily you started back taking that nap again and it was just a day or two that you refused it.
I will never understand the reasons why you and your brother both reverted with sleep, but you went from 7:30 pm to 3:40am two night in a row and then fell back to waking at 11pm! Maybe those teeth again? You are growing so much I had to switch out some of your hairbows and headbands that were getting too tight on your head. I also had to change out some of your socks because they kept coming off. This seems to be a challenge right now to find a pair that aren't too big or too small. Too bad it's still so cold out or we wouldn't have to worry about having to wear socks!
You tried brown rice cereal this past Saturday for the very first time!
I mixed it with breast milk and then let you try it from a spoon. You were so excited when you saw the bowl and spoon because you thought I was handing over a new toy, but then when you realized I was going to introduce a new food to you I don't think you knew what to think! I took this picture with my camera phone which explains why it was a little blurry, but you were so cute and I just grabbed it to take the picture fast.
First you took a few bites and then the bowl fell to the floor so I had to mix another bowl of it for you and by then I think you lost interest

You have continued loving to stand and are just dying to do what your brother does. Ryder loved "dancing" with you and showing you some moves. You think he is just the funniest thing ever and love him so much!

We changed out some more of your toys and brought in some of Ryder's old toys. He was showing you how they all worked of course, but you seemed really excited for some new things to play with! We have to help you stand of course, but your legs are just so strong that Daddy thinks it's fun to let you try standing for a few seconds by yourself. We used to do the same thing with your brother and he started walking by 9 months, so we will see if you are like him in that way.
You wore Mommy's dress I had when I was a baby girl. I am so glad that Nana saved a lot of my sweet baby dresses when I was little so that I could share them with you, and I will save them for you one day in case you ever have a baby girl! You looked like such a sweet princess dressed up!

You continue to roll, but we still put you to sleep on your back. Some nights when I come to your crib you have rolled over and sometimes are stuck in the corner, and it scares me, but I know you can roll back if you needed to!
You are really pulling up and practicing for when you can sit up on your own! It really seems to be going by way too fast, and I know this will only happen in no time.
Look at your soft baby hair! It seems to change all the time, blonde, strawberry blonde, red! I love to hold you and inhale all your yummy baby smells haha! You are just the sweetest, smiliest baby for most of the time. I am so proud of you for going to the church nursery and doing so good with the sweet little old ladies. I will be sad to leave you for 5 (pretty much 6) days while Daddy and I are in Hawaii, but I know you and your brother will be in great hands with Nana and Pawpaw while we are away. I love you with all of my heart and will try to savor these last few days before you turn 5 months old next week!

Happy 21 Weeks Brynley!
Love,
Mommy

  2. What a sweetie pie! And you know, I think we have that same baby bowl - it was a gift from friends in the States (a set of 3 with lids). Joe gets really excited now when he sees his, too, but it's because he knows it means food!

  3. She is gorgeous, just like her mama!

I was an early walker and so was my hubby! While I am excited for that milestone, Max being mobile freaks me out. He already keeps me on my toes!
