{okay I'm off my tangent}
Ryder loved this slide especially, and I was a little nervous at first because he flied going down, looking like such a big boy. When did he turn into an 8 year old!?
But seeing the look on his little face as he came sliding down, I realized he was having the time of his life! It was a fun morning at the park, but all fun things must come to an end, and Scot had to get back home to work, and we needed to get back for lunch and naps. While we were out, I needed to pump and Brynley needed to eat, so I ended up nursing in the car. I loved it! I don't know when it happened, but I have pretty much given up nursing except for situations like this, where I'm forced to. I love it but I have somehow managed to only pump and bottle feed because it's just the routine we've gotten ourselves in. I want to change this and make nursing a priority though. I still get sad when I think about it, but at least I am keeping with my supply, and pumping every 3 hours, just like I would as if I was nursing, and I am able to pump about 10 oz each 20 minute session.
Brynley has just been a delight this week, and I am so glad we are on the verge of leaving her fussy spells behind! We actually seem to be getting her settled much easier too, but I know with it another phase will return in its place. I think she has really started looking more and more like Ryder and Scot lately too. We had a bunch of errands to run yesterday, driving all over Charlotte and finding a place to sell my maternity clothes to. I was nervous about how both kids would do, and just as I thought, Brynley cried about an hour and a half of the drive but Ryder was a dream the whole trip! I was so proud of him, and so once we were done with our errands we stopped for a quick lunch and rewarded Ryder with pizza and dessert. Brynley finally fussed herself to sleep after lunch, and even though we were exhausted after a day of errands, it was so nice to have gotten so much done! It also made me realize I don't think we're quite ready for any family roadtrips anyplace just yet. We had the chance to go to our family beach house this weekend for Festival by the Sea, but we opted to stay home and relax and partake in some Halloween activities instead. Ryder has just been a sweetie lately and loving every part of having a little sister. I know the day will come where the two will get to play with one another, and lately Brynley has been showing a lot of interest in him. She looks around and even gives out smiles, and he soaks every bit of it up!
Ryder had a Fall Party at his school today, so this was the cutest penguin I had ever seen, dressed in his best as we got ready to leave. At first he didn't want to wear the costume but when I told him he was going to have a parade around the church and then a party, he changed his mind and was ready to go! I can't wait for the fun to be had this weekend as we have many more chances for Ryder to dress in his costume again.I can't believe it's already Thursday! We have been out and about a lot this week, and tomorrow we will have a playdate with some of the girls from MOPS. I love the girls I have met, and I feel like I need the playdate as much as the kids do ha! I decided to let Brynley wear her new boots today and I think she liked them! They are so cute, we just need to get her a pair of skinny jeans and she will be all set. (Do they even make them in 0-3 month size?) Speaking of which, I think she has finally grown out of most of her newborn sized clothes, and is now starting to wear 0-3 month! She has much more choices to wear in this size, so I can't wait to start dressing her all up :) Oh the fun of having a little girl!
I am totally with you about the park! I have realized that I have no problem being a total B to kids at the park. We were at one yesterday and one kid kept telling other kids not to get on a swing because he was saving it for someone else. I almost stepped in and told him that unless his friend was in the swing, he couldnt "save" it but opted not to. However, if he had said it to Colt, I would have stepped in.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the pictures of Brynley. She is getting so big! Its going too fast. Sula has outgrown her newborn clothes. I still have mostly onesies for 0-3 months but 3-6 months forward, I cant wait to start dressing Sula up!
