Bits About Brynley: SIX WEEKS!

How has it been 6 weeks already since I gave birth to this Little Miss? I know I will say this each and every week, but really, how has it been six weeks??
(I got Brynley's onesie outfit from an Etsy seller HERE)
  • This week was the start to a much better week. A week of less fussy spells. Less trouble settling her between feedings, sleeping better through the night, and I even got a few smiles which made the last few days of fuss.i.ness bareable.
  • As for me, this has been a much better week for me too. A happier baby= a happier{more rested} Mama! Not to mention, my moodswings and Baby Blues have almost disappeared! We even got out and got some fresh air today and took a walk around the neighborhood. I'm still mostly pumping and bottle feeding at this point, and am really adding to my supply in the freezer. I did nurse Brynley yesterday and we both really enjoyed it. It's a constant battle with me to try to figure the whole breast feeding thing out, and to make sure that Brynley gets plenty to eat before falling asleep as she nurses.
Of course Brynley slept the whole time during her "wake time" after her feeding. I didn't mind though, and Ryder still had fun being pushed in his car. It was just nice to get some excercise. I'm thinking that I will start going to the gym November 1st. Is it really going to be November next week? Cuh-razy!
Like I said, I got lots of smiles lately and I think Brynley is really starting to enjoy her activity mat a lot more. When I first laid her down, she just checked everything out, but recently I have seen that she really takes it all in and coos and smiles.

I am just smitten with this fluffy blonde headed love. I've noticed this past week that she is starting to look like Scot more and more, and that her hair even looks like it has hints of strawberry blonde throughout. I'm sure she will change again and again, just as Ryder has, but deep down I really want a "Mini Me" haha.

Brynley,

Here are some things I don't want to forget about you at SIX WEEKS:
  • You have the tiniest curl at the front of your forehead that looks like a furrow but it's so cute!
  • You love to grab onto things and have such a tight grip! Usually mommy's hait gets grabbed, and I keep threatening to wear my hair in a ponytail, but I never do because in some way I think it comforts you. I have a hard time getting the fuzz out of your grasp and it seems to collect in between fingers.
  • You really love your mommy. You love your daddy and brother too, but I seem to soothe you (which I absolutely love). I am so happy to have my sweet girl. I was holding you today while Daddy played ball with Ryder, being so rough and I just thought "Thank you God for this gift of a delicate little girl so that I too can play dolls and Barbies with".
  • You still get the hiccups if you drink too much. We think you are on the verge of a growth spurt, wanting to eat more to become satisfied.
  • You have such a loud cry! The girliness in your voice is so cute though, and I never tire of hearing it
  • You are soo strong and can stand with your legs when we let you push  up on us. You have rolled over from tummy to back many times now when we do Tummy Time, and I'm sure you will be rolling from back to front in no time!
We're still working on Tummy Time, and some days Brynley doesn't seem to mind, but then other days she screams and hates it. Finding the right time to do it is the challange. Too soon after a feeding she spits up and then gets hiccups. If I do it before a feeding she is way too fussy and it's no fun for anyone. However, we have noticed that she likes just hanging on her tummy if it's on a Boppy or tummy mat.
Thank goodness for paci! Through the night I usually notice it gets spit out a few dozen times. I really don't think Brynley would keep it in all the time, but I at least offer it so that I can get as much sleep as possible! She seems to favor it more during the day.
Ryder loves you so so much, and sometimes I think he thinks you are his to play with! No matter how many times we ask him to play gentle with you, he still manages to hug you too hard. He has such a big heart and longs for the day when he can play with you! It will only be a matter of time, and I can't wait for that day!
I just love this sweet face!

Both babies in their footed pj's- is there anything cuter :)
We introduced Wub a Nub to Brynley this week too. She took it a few minutes but she still seems too small to really hold it just yet. I'm sure in just a matter of time they will be best friends! The problem lies with trying to keep Ryder away from her new toys!
We also gave her these sweet toys from Aunt Sandi and Uncle Tobey. All organic and sooo soft! Ryder thinks they're his too.. little stinker!
Brynley has also started doing this thing where she sticks her tongue out and pushes it. So funny!
This was the 6 week picture I attempted to take of Brynley this morning. As you can see, we were at the height of a fussy spell. I realized I would just try again later when we were in better moods ha!
And this was taken after we picked Ryder up from school and had eaten lunch. Ahhh.. MUCH better!
Brynley you are such a JOY to have in our lives and you bring your Mommy, Daddy, and brother so much happiness! I just can't get enough of these smiles that you have really started giving out today.

Happy 6 weeks my Brynley Bug :)
