Weekend Randoms

  •  On Wednesday Scot and I treated ourselves to a lunch date by the lake at Vinnie's bar and grill. I love taking full advantage of having Ryder in daycare on my day off, and it gave he and I a chance to hang out and talk, something we rarely get to do anymore. The weather was perfect and it was just nice to realize that we live in a great area with a lot to do, that we normally don't even think about how blessed we are. We don't have a house at the lake and we don't own a boat, so we sometimes forget that we even live at Lake Norman. It was one discussion that we did have, and that was to one day live on either the lake or by the ocean, and one way or another we want to work towards making this a goal for our family.
  • The food was good, the company was good, but we decided to pick Ryder up before his naptime, since I started to miss him and then we went to Josh's produce to get some fresh fruits and veggies. I have been wanting a lot of watermelon, strawberries, and yummy salads lately and I think my love for all things fresh has spilled onto Ryder because he too has been asking for fruits lately.
  • We went shopping Friday night and faced all of the race traffic (gasp!) to go to the mall and babies r us to get Brynley a mattress and a few odds and ends. I am so happy to be starting on her nursery and I feel like we are now making headway on her room. I ordered her bedding, and have placed and order on etsy for her wall letters that we will hang above her crib. Now I need to figure out if I want to do curtains or valances on her windows, and I only need to find a bible verse that I see fitting to put in her nursery, and decide on the chandelier I want and we will be all set!
  • I am really enjoying this season of life and I want to remember this part of our lives often. I realize that in just 3 months we will welcome Brynley to our family, and it will change our dynamic forever (in a great way!) but until then I do want to savor my moments with Ryder. We bought him a few more books and a tee ball set while we were out this past weekend and he loves the books more I think! This made me happy, since I love to read so much, and it is my favorite thing to do with him, when he crawls into my lap and has a big stack of books that he wants me to read to him. I hope he never grows out of this phase.
  • There are a family of geese that have moved in and we see them whenever we get off this exit that is not far from our home. I think the babies are soo cute and of course, seeing as how I call Ryder my little goose I thought it was only proper that I take a picture of this goose family.
  • After the really hot weather we have been having, I have come to realize that it is going to be a hot summer and I still have 3 months of being pregnant. The heat has also made me question on whether or not I think I will be a trooper and be able to walk all over Sea World in the coming weeks when we visit my inlaws in Florida. I guess I will just have to see how I am feeling by then, as it's something I really wanted to do with Ryder before Brynley gets here. I have never seen a child love sharks more than he does and I think he will have an awesome time seeing the shows and all of the animals.
  • I guess that's all for now, I'm so excited to have had a date night with Scot last night while Ryder stayed with his Nana and Pawpaw. It was just what we all needed. Ryder had been having withdrawls from his grandparents and Scot and I were desperate for a good nights sleep and a dinner out together. We had a great night but I already miss my little man and will be excited to spend this Memorial Day relaxing at home and playing in our pool.
HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!
