Over the past week, Scot and I have really taken advantage of this nice Fall weather we have been having by taking the kids to a few parks in our area. I've started gradually getting out of the house and going for walks around the neighborhood, and was ready to take a step further by getting even more excercise at some of the parks. But with any park, we had to visit the slides and play area for Ryder before getting excercise.
Ryder had so much fun going up and down this slide, and ended up making a little friend while he was there. They chased each other for awhile before the little boy told his Mom that Ryder was too fast and that he was tired ha! Poor guy, he was maybe a year younger than Ryder and just couldn't keep up!
Through the week we were able to go for a few trips to one of our favorite parks in the area, Hope Park. I am really loving that I get to stay at home with the kids, and go out with Scot when he gets a break in the day.
It was a sunny day but the wind was pretty intense, so I had to bundle Brynley up with my carrier. She was sound asleep the entire time which worked out great, and I was happy to keep her nice and toasty!
After playing ball with Ryder, we checked out the fun houses that the park had to offer. I just love this park because there is so much for the kids to play on, and someone very artistic was able to make these cute play houses. Of course, Ryder's favorite is the treat house, and he kept running to the gumball machine to "pass out" gumballs to everyone ha!
We also got to go for a picnic and a hike at the Lake Norman State Park. When we first got there, Brynley was sound asleep in her carseat but as usual, the minute we sat down for our picnic, she woke up and was a fussy girl, so I ended up holding her to finish lunch. It was fine though because she ended up going to sleep after she ate, and we were able to get a great hike in, and Ryder had so much fun! The trees are really at their peak of the color changing season and it was just beautiful out.
On Friday I met up with my friends from MOPS and we had a fun play date. I was more excited about getting out of the house and getting to see the girls! Ryder kind of kept to himself at first and seemed kind of shy, but did pretty well. He had a few moments when he didn't want to share, but I think he will get better and more used to the play dates the more we do them. He used to do so well in daycare but with the changes of now staying at home with me, and transitioning back to preschool, and having a new baby sister to share all of his attention he has reverted a little.
I can't believe it's been since Tuesday that I blogged, but it's been a fun yet busy week for me. I'm just trying to stay on track with continuing to get out and get excercise. I'm so happy that it's the weekend, and I hope you're having a GREAT one!

I love going to parks as well. It has been fun exploring the parks in our area! It amazing how much Colt and Ryder have in common. Between being in daycare, and becoming a big brother and staying at home. Sounds like Ryder is doing great! Do you have big plans for his birthday?
