Stuffing Scarecrows and Pumpkin Pickin'

Halloween is just days away, and I am so behind with blogging! Before it gets here, I wanted to share our fun day with scarecrows, pumpkins, and petting animals at Patterson Farm!
We started our morning last week, by stuffing some party favors for Ryder's preschool Halloween party. I love getting to help with his school parties, and my dreams of being a stay at home Mom have come true. This year we decided on cute Halloween pencils, pumpkin bubbles, M&M's, Kit Kat bars, and plastic spider rings.
We got to Patterson Farms and met up with some of Ryder's favorite classmates. They are just so cute! It was much colder than I thought, but made for a perfect activity like pumpkin picking.

Getting a photo of the class was nearly impossible! At any given moment every child was either closing their eyes or opening their mouth, haha! They are adorable though.

After a puppet show, it was off to the petting zoo to feed the animals and get a peek at the day old piglets that were just born. The funniest moment was in the bottom middle picture as Ryder went to sprinkle a few pellets to the sheep, but he wanted more so he jumped up on the fence. I have never seen Ryder jump so high or run so fast to get away. Haha.
And while at the farm, I wanted to take full advantage of getting some family pictures. LOVE how the outfits turned out! I am addicted to Etsy, and found this dress by Susie Louise Clothing on Etsy. She was great to work with, and was able to make a coordinating shirt for Ryder.
My little man looking like a big pumpkin farmer the way he hauled these pumpkins around!

Patterson Farm has become the place we go for all of our seasonal goodies, and to make things more fun, they do a photo contest with chances to win prizes. I haven't decided what photo to enter yet, so maybe ya'll can help. Any of these three?? Or the one of Ryder and Brynley below?
I'm thinking this is the winner, and I would title it "chillen at the patch".

By the end of our petting zoo, puppet show, tractor ride, scarecrow stuff, and pumpkin races, not to mention the main event of picking our pumpkins, it had warmed up and was the best day to spend at the farm! I love this picture and can't wait for the many years to come here, spent as a family.

It's crazy to think what a difference a year makes. Here we are at the same pumpkin patch last year.

I love these pictures from last year! Brynley was just a peanut and Ryder still had that baby face :)

  1. I think you should enter that first one of just Brynley. I love the look on her face, and how she is just about to pick up the pumpkin.
