Brynley,
You are 28 weeks old today my little monkey!
I finally got to post your weekly stats on your actual "weekly birthday". Getting pictures of you, and having you cooperate was a bit of a challenge though!
Brynley-"Oh look at this fun pillow to play with. I think I'd rather play with this than to smile at Mommy's big camera. Yes this is much more fun!" "What's that in Ryder's hand? Must.Have.Monster Truck!"
And then there was the challenge while Daddy has been away on a business trip, to entertain Ryder enough by myself so Mommy could get a few of your pictures. But Ryder insisted on sitting on the chair with you while I tried taking pictures. And then fussed when I asked him to look at me and smile. Oh the joys of having a 3-turning 21-year old! And by that point you were over the paparazzi!I love you in this sweet yellow outfit! I always seem to dress you in pink and I like having a different color on you for a change. In fact I liked it so much that I ordered some new bows for you and one is a very adorable yellow one! I can't wait for them all to get here so I can mix things up a bit!
Girlfriend you are teething like nobody's business and I can start to feel the edges of teeth under all of those gums! I say this everyday but those teeth are going to erupt anyday now I just know it! (and believe me we continue to dose you up on teething tabs and Orajel Naturals until they do!)
It's been a long two weeks adjusting from colds and just being home more but we have had a lot of play time and getting to go outside since the weather has been so nice! You think your brother is just the funniest, and he always tries getting you to laugh! You are feeling much better and we finished the antibiotic finally! That was fun, trying to administer medicine to you, because my little smarty pants, you figured out how to blow raspberries and spit the bright pink medicine right back out and all over yourself and Mommy too! This also applies to any foods you don't find appealing and do it as soon as you see what I'm about to give you. You are so smart that I swear you know green beans and peas by their color, because you didn't do it when I offered bananas or applesauce or even oatmeal, but buddy watch out if I got the sweet peas out and you noticed the green color!
But you finally gave in and gave the sweet peas a try and actually liked them much better than green beans! We will be introducing squash to you next week. So far you have now tried rice cereal, oatmeal, applesauce, green beans, bananas, sweet potatoes, and now sweet peas (and in that order). You make loud grunts at me when you're hungry and want another bite, and some days I can't feed you fast enough. You are doing great with solids and it still blows my mind that I have a 6 month old!
You were very curious about what Ryder was snacking on one day this week! He was eating grapes and you were like a little puppy just begging for a treat haha! Scot and I laughed thinking about how the two of you looked like one another so much. I look some like my brother but not nearly like you and Ryder do and I love it! My two sweet twin babies!
I plan on doing a whole post about this, but here you are in one of my outfits from when I was a baby. Scot made sure to point out that he did not really like this outfit and thought you were a sailor haha. However, I think you look like a doll in it, and I love getting to see you in the same outfits that I wore as a baby myself. I hope to pass them on to you one day too! I also love how big and blue your eyes are, just like Mommy's! Daddy has pretty blue eyes too, but not nearly as bright as mine :)
I'm so proud of what a great sleeper you've been this week, and have thanked God for you sleeping through the night more nights this week! I also think it's helped more solids with your milk, so I'm planning to add another solid to the afternoon. We changed our daily routine up a bit lately, now that you've been sleeping better. You've been waking between 5:30 and 6:30am, nursing and then going right back down in Mommy and Daddy's bed, then waking again around 7:30 and I've been giving you your first solid, followed by nursing a bit more, and then playtime and nap by 9:30-11am. Then I nurse you again at 11am and then another solid around 12pm followed by more playtime and then nap by 1pm. You are pretty much done now with your late afternoon nap, but will occasionally pass out after eating around 5pm and then we continue through with our bedtime routine. This seems to be working well and getting you to sleep through the night, so I plan to keep it up and just add another solid around 4pm to make sure you're getting enough to eat.
You still love playing peek-a-boo with Mommy and having raspberries blown on your tummy! You laugh and laugh when we do that to you. You love to grab everything you can get your hands on and really seem to like books more now. I used to just have a bunch of soft cloth or plastic baby books for you to chew on, but added a bunch more for you to hold and look at. You want to play with them more than anything but I do think you like looking at all of the pages even if you don't quite know what a book or reading is all about yet.
As always, I am so proud of you each and every week, and for your many accomplishments. You are doing great at holding yourself up when sitting for longer periods of time now, both on the floor and outside on the grass now! This also goes for you doing better at sitting in your stroller and highchair now too. You are just so BIG! You are really creeping, reaching and rolling around and I swear I may have even seen early signs or crawling by now too!
Happy 28 Weeks My Love,
Love Mommy
I love that she is wearing your baby outfit, I think it is cute. And we have an almost crawler here. I am not ready for this lol!
ReplyDeleteSweet baby Brynley! Happy 28 months! I love how she is with Ryder. Sula is the same way with Colt. Just stares at him. It melts me. I am so glad that she has an older brother to look out for her :)
